Marxism and Social Action in Nigeria

Abstract

Marxist theory, as it relates to explanation of crisis, social upheavals, wars, violence and so on, is highly relevant to Nigerian situation .Marxism provide insight into Nigerian contemporary economic and social problems. On the other hand, although a revolutionary situation has been in existence in Nigeria, its concomitant factor, the subjective condition, is problematic. A limitation of Marxism is that the doctrines of the proletariat, the proletarian revolution and dictatorship are highly problematic, especially in the Nigerian situation.
