Abstract: This study investigates the implications of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into university education in Nigeria, particularly within the context of the built environment. By reviewing existing literature, employing qualitative and quantitative methodologies, and analyzing data from questionnaires, the study aims to assess the current state, challenges, and opportunities AI presents in enhancing educational outcomes. Findings suggest that while AI offers significant potential for transforming teaching and learning in Nigerian universities, there are barriers to its effective implementation, including infrastructure limitations and the need for comprehensive faculty training. The study underscores the importance of proactive measures to address these challenges and offers recommendations for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to harness the full benefits of AI in university education for the advancement of the built environment sector in Nigeria.
