Abstract: The study traced the history of GSM phone in Nigeria and examined the pattern of use in the Faculty of Law Library, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka by the students. It revealed that all the students’ population had GSM phones, and that they used cell phone mainly for communication and academic purposes. It was also discovered that the use created some distractions in the library, and not minding the disturbance students would not want a ban placed on the use of cell phone in the library. Suggestions and recommendations were made as to the best way to use GSM phone in the library
